MYSTERIA MEMETICAAbout This Work
Pepeus Flamel depicts Pepeus Flamel — a mythical mage and alchemist, holding an ancient tome inscribed with the names of all known memes as a secret hermetic spell. The pages, impervious to fire, are enveloped in flames, symbolizing the transformation of free knowledge that resists both prohibition and the passage of time. This work was inspired by Balthazar Moncornet’s engraving of the alchemist Nicolas Flamel (based on a drawing by Rembrandt) and SMOLCARD #36 by Darkfarms.
