About This Work

Portrait of Kekius Maximus, the great emperor of memes. He is depicted wearing a lorica musculata, adorned with golden reliefs. At the top of the armor is a winged bull with a laurel wreath, symbolizing an ascent to new heights, blessed by the heavens. Below, two griffins embody the duality of decline and rise — united in their service to memetic truth. For it is said: «He who wears this armor is driven not by fear, but by conviction — the market shall rise, so have decreed the gods of the chains» In his hand, he holds a staff bearing the sign of Taurus, adorned with the face of the sun. The piece was created in 2025 with oil paints on a gallery-wrapped linen canvas, set in a frame made from 19th-century oak and is ready for hanging.

BMAG Note

Kekius has left the BMAG Nashville location and is now only to be seen behind David Bailey in video calls.
