Bitcoin War Bonds

Tommy Marcheschi's "Bitcoin War Bonds" transforms propaganda aesthetics into a stark warning about government overreach. The imposing canvas features an Uncle Sam-like figure wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, pointing at viewers while demanding Bitcoin surrender.
The fictional "Executive Order 69420" directly parallels FDR's 1933 Executive Order 6102, which criminalized gold ownership and forced Americans to surrender their holdings to the Federal Reserve at a fixed price. Marcheschi's dystopian vision applies the same authoritarian playbook to Bitcoin: "ALL PERSONS ARE REQUIRED TO DELIVER TO A FEDERAL RESERVE WALLET ALL BITCOIN NOW OWNED BY THEM."
The hazard-striped border reinforces the cautionary message, while the figure's attire contains Easter egg details for careful observers.
Created during heightened regulatory scrutiny in 2022, the piece debuted at Bitcoin 2022 Miami and remains displayed at BMAG Nashville.
